Winemaker's Tasting NotesA popular dessert wine, bright mahogany in colour with a gold-green rim. The bouquet is lifted with raisin and toffee aromas. The palate is smooth and luscious and layered with flavours of caramel, dried fruit and roasted nuts. Many years ageing in old oak casks has produced rancio complexity and a very long, persistent finish.
Toffee aromas with beeswax-like touches. Nice nuttiness to the sweet elegant palate. Quite long & drying.

A very good example of this style of wine. Has developed a high degree of lusciousness with ripe caramel and honeyed dried fruits. Multi-layered and deep and concentrated with a warm palate-coating viscosity. Has started to show some classic muscat rancio which comes with extended ageing in old oak before bottling. Great to see the style. 93/100
